Does anyone have any problems installing Power Music - in particular the trial version on the Cambron website?

Choose the correct version from the download page. If you are unsure whether your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit, then use the following method:

In Windows Vista:
Click Start, right-click on Computer and select Properties.
* For a 64-bit version operating system: 64-bit Operating System appears for the “System type” under “System”.
* For a 32-bit version operating system: 32-bit Operating System appears for the “System type” under “System”.

In Windows XP:
Click Start, right-click on My Computer and select Properties.
On the General tab the operating system appears as follows:
* For a 64-bit version operating system: Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition Version appears under System.
* For a 32-bit version operating system: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version appears under System.

If you have had problems with the installation, then press Save when prompted to download, not Run. Once the installation exe is downloaded, double-click on it and it should extract the installation files into a new folder and auto-run setup.exe.

If you are not allowed to download .exe files then download the zipped version.
Unzip the file into a new folder.
Run setup.exe from the new folder. Do not try to run setup.exe without unzipping (extracting) the zip file first.

Just thought I would add another couple of suggestions for anyone who hasn't read the other discussions:
Sometimes there are issues with user accounts which normally don't cause any noticeable problems until you try to install Microsoft SQL Server Express.
This is a prerequisite for the installation of Power Music and is normally responsible for any install problems which may occur. (Using this for the database was a decision taken at the beginning of the design because it is a powerful solution allowing us to expand the capabilities of Power Music as it evolves, particularly as plans are in place for a 'Pro' version and a future networking system.)
If you have tried the other solutions offered here and you still have problems installing, then try creating a new user account. Give the new account administrator priviledges and install Power Music under that account. If this works it indicates an unseen corruption under the original user account.
See the other discussion Sql Server 2005 express issues for more advice.
Please add your own install problems/solutions if they are not covered here.
