I've tried to attach an audio file to a song, but when I've browsed to where the song is located, it doesn't show up.  It is an MPEG-4 file but I notice that the "File type" in the open box doesn't have MPEG-4 as an option.

How can I attach this audio file??

Hi Neil
You are right - MPEG-4 is not one of the supported file types. Power Music uses Windows media player and normally this file type is not supported by it. Can you play the file in Windows media player outwith Power Music? Is your file extension .m4p (iTunes file)?
Do you have an audio player that will allow you to export the file as .mp3?

Hiya Guru

Nope just downloaded the latest Windows media player and it doesn't play the MPEG-4 files either

They seem moslty to be .m4a types, but I do use iTunes as my main player.

I'm sure I could convert the files to .mp3s somehow, but that'll mean having to convert loads of them!!! Is there a reason for PM not supportiing MPEG-4s?? Could you have an option to choose the player of preference??

Yes, it's possible to have that option. Power Music was written as a Windows application but that doesn't mean everyone uses Windows Media player to play their audios. I will add it to the list as a future change. We will look at using an independent audio player instead, or writing our own!
Thanks for bringing this to our attention - it hasn't been an issue so far, so I guess most users use mp3s.

Many thanks.

Here's another question - is it possible to set a default folder for the "Open playlist"? I store mine a couple of subfolders deep and have to go through all of them to get to the playlists??

That's a good suggestion, Neil, thanks. I will add it to the list. It should remember the last folder you used.

Hi Again Guru

It would also be useful to have a "Save As .." option on the Playlist save button, so you can save another copy of the same Playlist with a different name. Useful for having options with slight differences or a new Playlsit based on the previous without having to construct the whole list again.
