I have downloaded the trial version and it looks good so far. But one thing that is important to me is the ability to be spontaneous and add songs to the playlist on the fly. Is this possible with this software?
Hi Jeremy
It is very quick to find a song - either to display immediately (F5) or to add to the playlist (press enter). You have to 'Escape' from full screen mode to do it at the moment, but future versions will have the option to access the playlist directly from full screen mode. Is this what you meant?
I guess I would have to see it in action in a future version to see but that is about what I want. Would that mean that you could carry on seeing the current playlist and have a superimposed (or small window) listing of all songs in the database so you could add songs 'live' without having to exit the current song on screen?
I think that would have to be an option because it might be annoying to have part of the screen covered - unless it was a side window, and that would decrease the size of the music display. How would you want it to look?
Maybe I'll try and do a visual mock up sometime. I guess a small semi-transparent window in the bottom right hand corner with a list of the songs, a search box and an 'add to current playlist' button.
Sounds good, Jeremy.
How about a fly-out panel on the right hand side, which appears when the mouse moves to the edge of the screen and disappears when it moves back?
At the moment you can have the Notes window (by pressing 'N'), the media player (press 'A'), the tempo indicator ('T' or 'M'). It could get very cluttered so that you couldn't even read the music!
There are minor releases of the program on a regular basis, and your idea will definitely be included - probably in one of the releases during the summer. There is already an idea on this line, see the discussion: What changes do you want to see in future versions?
Toggle display of programme (play list with notes) on full screen
This idea is to have a more descriptive playlist like a programme where you can add notes eg 'announcements' etc., but I think your suggestion would be quicker to implement.
If you have other suggestions you could add them to that discussion.
Ideas are always welcome!
